Job Overview/Activities   

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM) as an Access Office Policy / Governance Support.

The OEHRM Access Office supports coordination with both the local sites User Role Assignment Coordinators (URACs), but also with the CMO leadership who is managing the relationship with Cerner as to the process for defining and aligning VA staff to roles at sites. This work happens prior to provisioning and is a requirement for proper training and go-live preparations. These staff will:

  • Engage the Provisioning staff within the Access Office as required
  • Coordinate with CMO, OEHRM Clinical Councils, OSDT and CMO Operations staff to ensure that all OEHRM process changes to the URA process are clearly communicated between CMO, the sites, TIO and Cerner
  • Serve as support for government Policy/Governance lead to support overall Access processes and URAC coordination
  • Provide coordination as OEHRM TIO teams automate provisioning processes to ensure that technical changes are in sync with Change Management, Informatics, and Operational teams withing OEHRM CMO


Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects
  • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience in tracking costs, schedule, and performance progress
  • Able to identify and mitigate risks

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with process modelling and site coordination.
  • Understand and have familiarity with provisioning and other access management concepts
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) modernization and clinical knowledge
  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing EHR
