Role

T&E Engineer (PID 1401)

Activities

 

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. The T&E Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of test events in support of the federal enclave. The T&E Engineer is required to produce artifacts such as a testing schedule and test plan. The T&E Engineer will work with T&E to validate that systems are ready for test, that testing will not impact production systems, and that testing is conducted in accordance with the requirements and standards set forth by VA and DoD.

 

Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
  • Able to oversee all test events and manage multiple test events, defining and staffing these test events with appropriate resources
  • Able to coordinate with developers and functional end users to create test plans and test scripts
  • Able to coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events
  • Experience with approving test reports, monitoring and updating bug reports as needed including bug report closure
  • Experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing
  • Expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments
  • Experience writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures
  • Able to manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineer
  • Able to understand an ATO package to include a systems topology and develop a test plan that does not deviate from the accepted level of risk associated with that package
  • Able to understand and communicate with technical staff and to articulate test results to an executive staff
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records

Experience with conducting testing and evaluations for a large enterprise; preferably within healthcare
